Debate Debacle

Watching the last Democratic Debate before the Iowa caucuses on February 3 — a day after Super Bowl Sunday — I concluded its going to be a lot more thrilling watching who will win the Super Bowl than the winner of the Iowa caucuses.

A white male wins Iowa! Who will win the Super Bowl?

The Democratic Debate was boring. White vanilla boring.

Bernie still has the Burn/Bern, while the rest of the democratic candidates seem burned out. Just like American politics and elections.

Thankfully, the debate was followed by the Impeachment of the President voted out of the House of Representatives and sent to the Senate for trial, and President Trump signed Phase I of the Trade Agreement with China as he gets ready to do the same with NAFTA’s replacement.

That didn’t stop Trump from injecting himself into the debate from nearby Wisconsin where he was campaigning.

“She said that Bernie stated strongly that a woman can’t win. I don’t believe that Bernie said that. I really don’t. It’s not the kind of thing Bernie would say,” he said.

The “he said, she said” debate between the Democratic Party’s two progressive heavyweight stars, highlighted how bland the debate was.

Not one domestic or foreign policy issue of interest, other that identity politics, stood out or is memorable!

Yet, for the first time there was no candidate of color.

In my 2004 book Custom Maid Spin for New World Disorder, I wrote:

“Immigration, the Information Age and netizens have
magnified America’s institutional shortcomings and
multi-ethnic makeup. They cross-pollinated with the
cultural misperceptions that have become ingrained in
America’s everlasting New World Order. Conceptualized
by the Pilgrims, memorialized by the Founding Fathers,
America since has failed to come to terms with its contin-
uously changing cultural, economic and religious fabric.
Mythology replaced reality. Spirituality has failed to keep
up with technology. Debt has consumed equity. America
has undergone a tremendous transformation since the

Pilgrims landed. America has changed from vanilla WASP
to Cherry Garcia white patched butterfly, with butterfly
ballots. Or is it a multicultural scoop of Ooey Gooey cake?
Apple pie America is a racial blender of carmelized apple.
Rich, heavy and lite.”

Much like Hong Kong. Even though Hongkongers are multi-cultural and multi-ethnic, only Chinese are considered for the position of Chief Executive or Legislative Council Membership.

I can’t wait to see who will make it to the Superbowl — and win!
