Earlier this year I posted a blog titled Time to Clean Dirty FBI. The release of Comey’s self-serving book this week necessitates a Congressional investigation of the former FBI Director. His admission that he personally decided to re-open the Hilary Clinton investigation into her illegal use of a server and missing e-mails — because he believed she was going to win the election — and did not want her election to be challenged because of the ongoing questions about her use of an unsecure server at home — is in my humble opinion criminal! Many believe his decision to reopen the Clinton e-mail investigation cost her the election. Whether it did may also merit a Comey investigation. The fact that he did what he did merits at the very least a Congressional investigation — and maybe even the appointment of a Special Prosecutor to investigate James Comey himself and the publication of his book while the Robert Mueller III investigation is still ongoing — before the critical midterm elections.
America needs to restore public confidence in its highest law enforcement agency and the only way that can be done is to investigate Comey and how he transformed the FBI to the partisan political tool many believe it has become.
As I said in my earlier post, “The FBI is dirty — maybe even criminal — in its conduct and behavior. The rogue-criminal clique in senior and overall management, is to be distinguished from the agents on the street. The rank-and-file. These agents are smart and they know who is under attack and are glad and supportive. They are just as dismayed and concerned as the general public that their cherished institution has been dragged from its premier position as the objective and neutral arm of justice and turned into a partisan enforcer of political elites and their goals.
“I am referring to the conduct of the desk jockeys, management, senior management. The likes of senior executive Peter Strzok, who had edited — changed — then Director-Comey’s characterization of Secretary Clinton’s voluminous e-mails found in her unofficial, unsecured and unclassified home computer network from “grossly negligent” (criminal) to “extremely careless” (non-criminal).
….
“Created in 1935, the FBI history documented in volume 6 of Michael Newton’s 2017 history of the agency, includes 1,000 pages of a 1976 list of FBI misbehavior, tracing J. Edgar Hoover’s criminal behavior back to 1939.
“During the 1960s, the FBI spied on Students for a Democratic Society, Civil Rights movements and their leaders, including Martin Luther King Jr., even though they had not committed any crime and were merely exercising their right of free speech. They even spied on John Lennon because of the lyrics of his songs.
“Today, the FBI is the NSA’s primary partner in domestic spying that allows them to review millions of photographs, e-mails and phone conversations of U.S. citizens who are not suspected of or have committed any crime. All in the name of national security and in violation of Article 4 of the Constitution that prohibits unreasonable searches!
“The FBI and Department of Justice use of an unverified opposition research report to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on a Trump campaign volunteer that likely expanded to include others on the Trump team — before and after the election — while withholding knowledge from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court that the dossier was paid for by the Democratic National Committee and Clinton campaign is criminal. The fact that Christopher Steele, the author of the dossier, who worked with the FBI, and was fired after he disclosed to the media he was working with them — was not disclosed to the FISA court — is mind boggling. Even more shameful is the fact that Steele briefed a reporter at Yahoo News, and the Yahoo story was used as evidence to corroborate his dossier for a FISA renewal — despite the fact that sources for both were Steele.
“Former FBI Director James Comey… described the Trump dossier as “unverified and salacious” in sworn testimony, yet still signed off on its contents.

“It is important to remember how the German police shifted from protectors of the people to enforcers of Nazi ideology. It is important that We the Maids — the people — be vigilant and sweep out all corrupting influences on America’s law enforcement agencies, be it the FBI or local police, to make sure they are not above the law and enforce the law objectively and impartially and do not become rogue-criminal organizations enforcing the will of a particular family, group, organization or individuals — especially a political elite. Never Again, especially in America.
“The Bureau’s reopening of the Clinton Foundation investigation may signal a major house cleaning initiative to remove the existing dirt — corruption — a return to the tradition of public corruption investigations unfettered by political influence and unintimidated by the prominence of those under investigation. The beginning of a concerted effort to restore the FBI to its historic prominence as the global model for objective, impartial, and ultra-competent law enforcement — an absolute must of a democratic republic.”
A criminal investigation of Comey is the next necessary must if the FBI is to be trusted again.
