Breaking Housing Matters

Thomas Jefferson once said, “The care of human life and happiness … is the first and only legitimate object of good government.” Affordable housing is what is desperately needed today for human life, wellbeing, and happiness. For buyers, renters and people experiencing homelessness.

Affordable housing is the first and only legitimate object of U.S. governments at all levels – city, county, state and federal – city, provincial, and central in China.

Compassionate Capitalism and Common Prosperity.

Breaking Housing Matters (“BHM”) is a grassroots movement (and U.S. nonprofit organization) I have started to encourage local governments to look at new ideas to provide affordable housing profitably. Our proposed solution, the Housing Subsidy Solution (“HSS”) provides a locally customizable framework and unique funding mechanism to achieve a long-term housing solution.

HSS is based on a partnership between the private sector and government, managed and administered by private sector bankers and real estate executives.

It starts with the premise that no person who wants to buy or rent a home should pay more than 25% of their income for either a mortgage or rent, the developer, landlord and seller should be able to make a reasonable return on their investment.

The amount in excess of what the person renting or buying the property would pay would be subsidized by the HHS’s Housing Subsidy Fund (“HSF”) with funds and tax benefits from a collective group of five parties. Check out the SOLUTION PAGE on our website for more details..

The time is long overdue for building affordable housing profitably for buyers and renters that is also profitable for landlords and developers.

It’s time for elected officials to stop wasting time and money on more studies on failed rent control solutions, consultations, politicking, and other short-term solutions with no long-term housing solution.  We can start building affordable housing profitably for all! The long-term affordable housing solution – HSS.
